Veterans Memorial Park honors North Port's veterans with two memorial monuments erected in 1986 by American Legion Post 254, recognizing Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8303, Jewish War Veterans, the Marine Corps, and the US Coast Guard. A metal sculpture built by Boy Scouts Troop 257 memorializes those who perished on September 11, 2001, with an annual community gathering held in memoriam. The park sits adjacent to the original North Port Public Library.
