Beer Can Island (officially Greer Island) is a small, undeveloped spit of sand at the northern tip of Longboat Key. Most visitors arrive by kayak or paddleboard, though it's also reachable on foot via a short mangrove path from the free (but limited) parking area at Circle Drive off North Shore Road. Some visitors instead park at Coquina Beach across the Longboat Key Bridge and walk over. There are no facilities of any kind, and the current in nearby Longboat Pass can be strong, so caution is advised.
