NorthPortList is committed to ethical local publishing. The following standards govern how content decisions are made, how the community is represented, and what NorthPortList avoids in its publishing practice.
We aim to be truthful, factual, and fair in everything we publish. Ethical publishing means presenting information in a way that gives readers an accurate picture of the subject matter.
Editorial judgment is based on usefulness, relevance, and factual support. Content decisions are not driven by personal hostility, retaliation, or pressure to distort facts.
NorthPortList maintains a clear separation between editorial content and paid or sponsored content. Financial relationships do not justify false, misleading, or dishonest editorial claims.
NorthPortList seeks to reflect the North Port community in a professional and respectful way. Coverage should be informative and constructive, even where topics involve public disagreement, development issues, or changes affecting residents.
Images and video should be relevant, non-deceptive, and used in a way that fairly represents the subject matter. Editing should not materially mislead viewers about what is shown.
If NorthPortList publishes sponsored or paid promotional material, it will be clearly distinguishable from editorial content. See the Ownership & Funding page for more on how NorthPortList is supported.
